"I just spent a weekend in Palm Springs. I was working on my tan." First broadcast in the US on CBS on 16th March 1974, Roddy McDowall appeared as a special guest on The Carol Burnett Show (Season 7, Episode 23) in full ape makeup and a tuxedo. Roddy recited a short speech from Cleopatra, then the pair performed a duet (a few lines from Vincent Youmans & Irving Caesar's Tea For Two and Herbert Reynolds & Jerome Kern's They Didn't Believe Me) before a short film was shown detailing the Apes prosthetic makeup process (screenshots of which were posted on this site on 2nd July 2022).
