His debut came in 1957 when he played Johnny Doyle in William Berke's 1957 film Four Boys And A Gun.

Franciscus was cast as Brent in Beneath The Planet Of The Apes because of his perceived resemblance to Charlton Heston.
Brent was sent, along with his skipper Maddox, on a rescue mission on the same trajectory as the lost ship commanded by George Taylor.

Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes (2011) Part 34

Planet Of The Apes: 50th Anniversary Retrospective

If you're in or around Los Angeles for the first half of this year, lucky you! The USC School of Cinematic Arts is the place to be - their 50 Years Of Planet Of The Apes retrospective and exhibition looks like an absolute peach.

Full details of movie screenings, panel discussions and guest appearances by luminaries from every aspect of the Apes universe can be found here.

Unfortunately Archives Of The Apes will not be able to attend, being as I am 7,000 miles away and currently without an income, but I'd be delighted to read any reports and experiences from any of you who can make it there. Photos would be appreciated, too.

Enjoy!
